Live for now June 13, 2011

In a previous post we mentioned living for tomorrow. This message must be kept in context in order to avoid error.

Living for tomorrow is applicable to tough situations when optimism is required. It is applicable so that people do not become too bitter and give up in life, and recall that tomorrow is a new day. Living for tomorrow is not applicable to a person’s salvation. It is unwise and an error if a person delays his repentance/confession, saying ‘tomorrow’. A Christian should always be living in the present never forgetting the day or hour at hand. His salvation and correct lifestyle should be lived right now, rather than later.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mk 1:15)

The bible teaches us not to worry about tomorrow; what we will eat, drink and wear. Today is more important, be concerned about your salvation today and let tomorrow worry about itself.

That being said, if your present day is difficult, remember that the future comes only one day at a time.

Maybe you should start smiling from now…
